Tips For Thinking Green
It's about making choices that reduce your impact on the environment and sometimes help you to save money.
Everyone is talking about the problems associated with global warming. What can we do as individuals to make less of a negative impact?
Some of these tips are easier than you may think and can add to the quality of your life.
- Buy locally grown. Locally grown produce requires less shipping and therefore creates less air polution. Try your farmer's market.
- Easy and breezy. Before you leave your house for the day, adjust your window coverings to either block or allow warming sunlight according to the season.
- Unplug it. Unplugging electronics and power strips when not in use will save you money and reduce polution.
- Screensavers don't really save. Screensavers may be good for your monitor, but they actually use a lot of energy. Make the better choice and turn your monitor off whenever you step away for a break from your computer.
- Natural cat scat. Clay-based kitty litters don't biodegrade in landfills. Dumping them in your yard and may contributes to water pollution. When shopping for litter, choose the more natural products.
That's it for now. Please check back for more tips to come.
